NCHA Statement on General Assembly passing state budget enacting Medicaid expansion
Raleigh, NC – September 22, 2023 — The North Carolina Healthcare Association (NCHA) thanks the House and Senate for passing a budget that includes Medicaid expansion. Medicaid coverage will allow 600,000 working North Carolinians access to regular, preventive care, reducing emergency department visits, and providing much needed help for those who struggle with addiction and behavioral health issues. Medicaid expansion will save lives, improve health, help with retention of healthcare providers, and provide needed financial support to struggling rural hospitals.
