NCHA Statement on Hospitals’ Participation in Medical Debt Program
Raleigh, NC — August 12, 2024 — North Carolina hospitals and health systems are committed to the care and well-being of all North Carolinians, and we recognize that medical debt is a concern for many. That is why hospitals focus every day on providing care to all, regardless of a patient’s ability to pay.
The North Carolina Healthcare Association (NCHA) stands ready to help assist hospitals with implementation of the new debt relief program. We are also committed to addressing the root causes of medical debt and will continue to work with partners to improve access to affordable, high-quality care.
