NC Medicaid Expansion Toolkit: What You Need to Know
Beginning December 1, 2023, more than 600,000 North Carolinians are now able to get health coverage through NC Medicaid. NC Medicaid covers eligible people ages 19 through 64 years. North Carolinians may be able to get health care coverage through Medicaid even if they didn’t qualify before. Medicaid pays for doctor visits, yearly check-ups, emergency care, mental health and more – at little or no cost to the patient.
To help people understand who is eligible and how to apply, the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services has released a website and bilingual toolkit with information regarding NC Medicaid, including:
- Eligibility and Enrollment
- Family Planning
- Medicaid Essentials
- Frequently Asked Questions
- Newsletter Content
- Social Media Content
- Applying through ePass (Video)
Member hospitals and health systems are encouraged to use these materials to raise awareness and educate the community on NC Medicaid. To receive updates on North Carolina’s Medicaid expansion rollout, click here.
